Тhe vessels of Volga Shipping perform transportation of liquid bulk cargoes on russian inland waterways, river/sea traffic and international sea routes.

The main cargo traffic routes of the company's liquid bulk cargo fleet mixed (river/sea) navigation include river- and seaports in Russia, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, the Caspian Sea.

For transportation of liquid bulk cargoes Volga Shipping uses 31 new generation (river/sea navigation) tankers of the total deadweight of 203 500 tons and 7 non-self-propelled oil tank trains of the total freight carrying capacity of 57 855 tons.

When arranging for transportation of different liquid bulk cargoes for the manufacturing and food industry sectors, our shipping company is guided by the requirements of the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk (IBC Code) and the regulations for the prevention of pollution under MARPOL 73/78.

Transportation of petroleum products

Petroleum products can be delivered:

  • from Russian ports of the Azov, the Black, the Caspian Seas to foreign ports of the Black, the Caspian, the Mediterranean, the Red, the Northern, and the Baltic Seas, as well as between foreign ice-free ports (all year round);
  • from river terminals of the European part of Russia to transit locations northward (Saint-Petersburg, Vysotsk) and southward (Kerch, Caucasus) (during the navigation period).

Tanker fleet functionality:

  • simultaneous transportation of 2 grades of petroleum products;
  • petroleum product transportation without flash point restrictions;
  • heating of transported heavy oil products (fuel oil) to facilitate discharge.

The sea-going fleet of Volga Shipping is classed by the Russian Maritime Register (member of IACS) and fully complies with all Russian and international requirements and conventions, including the requirements of the OCIMF member companies.

Transportation of liquid bulk food products and chemicals

Food industry and chemical industry products are carried by 6 chemical tankers of IMO class II of the total deadweight of 38 980 tons.

List of cargoes allowed for transportation as per the International Fitness Certificate 

Cargoes are delivered all year round from both river- and seaports to all ports of the Azov, the Black, the Mediterranean, the Baltic, and the North Sea, and back.

All stages of carriage of food products and chemicals are with due account for the specifics of the carried cargo, and include mandatory requirements.

Mandatory requirements:

  • individual shipping conditions for each cargo with regard to the particular characteristics of the substance;
  • proper cargo tanks preparation for each voyage;
  • providing proper temperature conditions required for preservation of cargo quality and characteristics;
  • scrupulous compliance with special requirements to slop storage and discharge;
  • continuous monitoring of proper condition of cargo tanks covered with special two-component phenolic epoxy rust-preventing paint.

The new generation fleet, the observance of the international standards and the smart management guarantee a safe and secure transportation of liquid bulk cargoes by reference to cargo specifics, shipment directions and volumes, navigation conditions and characteristics of port terminals.
