During 2016 navigation 111 students of professional educational institutions had practical training on cargo vessels and pusher tugs of the Volga Shipping Company, including 103 trainees having full-time employment and 8 students working part-time.
Traditionally students of Volgograd Training College of Water Transport (51 trainees), Nizhny Novgorod River College (32 students), as well as students of Volga State University of Water Transport, Rostov-on-Don River College and Gorodets college arrived to get navigation training.
The trainees are taught to navigate motor vessels of different projects and get mechanical maintenance skills under the guidance of experienced river workers – tutors.
In 2016 the Volga Shipping spent 890 thousand roubles for the training process management on the company vessels as well as purchase of educational materials, textbooks and office equipment for professional educational institutions.
Training practice management and all costs required for the training process are covered by the Shipping Company as a contribution to the education of the rising sea and river fleet workers.
