Over the period of 9 months in 2016 the Volga Shipping (part of UCL Holding) vessels transported 4.2 mln tons of cargo, which is by 11.6% or 0.56 mln tons less than over the same period last year.
Export cargoes made 66% (2.8 mln tons) of the total cargo volume transported, inland cargo transportation made 34% (1.4 mln tons). Compared to the same period last year there was a certain increase of the export cargoes share in the structure of transportations by 8 percentage points.
For the third year running grain has been the main export cargo of the Volga Shipping. Over the period of 9 months in 2016 the company vessels transported 1.2 mln tons of crops, by 0.5 tons less compared to the period under review last year. Certain delivery decrease occurred due to the situation on the grain market.
Over the period under review in 2016 the company vessels delivered 0.85 mln tons of sulfur, by 12.6% more than last year, and 0.69 mln tons of metals, twice more than last year.
Inland transportations are marked by decrease of construction cargoes delivery (sand and gravel mix and gravel) as a result of the construction market condition changes. Crushed stone flow from Ladoga and Onega ballast pits were kept at the last year level, 0.87 mln tons was delivered over 9 months of transportation.
