As of November 01, 2017, since the beginning of the year, the Volga Shipping Company (part of UCL Holding) has transported 2 million 100 thousand ton of grain cargo. This is an all-time high in shipment of grain over the recent 25 years of the shipping company activities.
Grain cargoes are delivered by 10 motor ships of the RSD44 design and 20 "Volga-Don" motor ships from the ports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Yeisk, and also ports of the Don river to the Caucasus port, where the cargoes are transferred to sea ships to be headed for countries of the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Russian grain is purchased in more than 50 countries.
This year navigation growth in the amount of grain shipment is facilitated by good yield of crops, increased demand in foreign markets, and well-coordinated work of carriers and shippers.
