Volga Shipping Company held celebrations dedicated to its 175th anniversary on September 20

On September 20, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the celebrations dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Volga Shipping Company (part of UCL Нolding). The celebrations were attended by Sergey Morozov, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region; Aleksey Klyavin, President of Russian Chamber of Shipping; management of UCL Holding; representatives of ad hoc agencies; employees, veterans and partners of Volga Shipping Company.

The programme included the awarding of the company’s best employees with 12 industry awards: “Honored Worker of Russian Transport” and “Honored Worker of River Fleet” badges as well as RF Transport Minister’s merit certificates. The employees and the veterans of the shipping company received the awards from Russian Chamber of Shipping, Government and Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, recognition letters and merit certificates from the head of Nizhny Novgorod, merit certificates from Volga Shipping Company and money rewards.

On the year of the 175th anniversary, Volga Shipping Company established a corporate award. On the day of celebration, the Volga Shipping Company badge was given to 69 specialists.

“Today, Volga Shipping Company is a flagman of river industry and the largest river shipping company in Russia”, Aleksey Klyavin, President of Russian Chamber of Shipping, emphasized in his opening speech. He wished the company further prosperity, stable and successful work.

The celebrations ended with a solemn meeting and a concert.
